Meet our November Pet of the Month!
Owned by Cindy Morrow
That’s my real name, but I’m just Boomer to my friends and family. I was rescued from the street when I was about 3 months old and will turn 12 on November 1. I was one lucky Lab who hit pay day when I was picked up and taken to my forever home. I’ve done some pretty exciting things since coming to live with my mom. I took water rescue classes, passed my Canine Good Citizen test and earned my Tracking Dog title on January 7, 2007. I’ve gone to work at the courthouse on several occasions and made lots of new friends and enjoyed visiting with old friends. I even got to be on the cover of the Duncan Banner yearly magazine in 2010. I’ve been told by Lab people that I’m unusually laid back (and really good looking) but I get really excited when I know I’m going for a ride in the van or taking a walk. Some of my best walks have occurred when someone flagged me down because they wanted to meet me, especially the kids. In my younger years, I enjoyed playing Frisbee and playing fetch with the tennis ball. When it came to play, I was full of boundless energy. Now in my golden years, I’ve slowed down some but still enjoy the occasional Frisbee toss but more enjoyable are the walks and car rides. My latest adventure was knee surgery, which I really didn’t want to do but mom and Dr. Tristan agreed it was the best thing for me. So time to slow down, recoup and settle in for lots of hugs and snuggles with family, both furry and human.
