Osage Animal Hospital strives to promote a healthy lifestyle for your pet in every stage of life. Wellness exams should be done at least once each year to help prevent illness and to detect disease early, so that your pet can live a happy, healthy life. Our complete annual wellness exams include a full examination by the veterinarian, vaccinations, heartworm test, and fecal analysis.
During the visit, the veterinarian will evaluate the overall health of your pet. The doctor will examine the eyes and ears, check the teeth, listen to the heart and lungs, and check for lumps on the skin or enlarged lymph nodes. The veterinarian will also palpate the abdomen and the joints, looking for any abnormalities. Yearly blood screening is recommended each year to establish a baseline to compare with future blood screenings for early detection of health issues. We know that every animal is different and strive to meet the individual needs of each one at every wellness exam.
