Why Registered Veterinary Technicians?
Registered Veterinary Technicians are an integral part of our
veterinary medical team at Tidwell Animal Hospital.   They are trained
professionals whose areas of study include: anatomy and physiology,
nursing, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, pharmacology, dentistry,
nutritional counseling, practice management, and client education.  A
Veterinary Technicians degree requires years of college study making
them the veterinarian’s “right-hand man” much like a Physicians
Assistant in human medicine.  Our staff at present consists of two
Registered Veterinary Technicians as well as two members of our team
who are currently studying to become RVT’s.  We are very proud of our
staff’s combined years of education and experience in providing top
medical care for your animal companions.

Bethany Fox, RVT

We first met Bethany Fox when she came to our hospital for her internship as a part of
the graduation requirements from the Murray State College School of Veterinary Technology program.  It did not take long before we realized that she would be a perfect fit as a member of our family and she did upon her graduation with honors in 2007.

As a top example of a Register Veterinary Technician,  Bethany excels in her dedication, knowledge, and skill. Bethany was born in Cushing, Oklahoma and graduated from Healdton High School in 1997.  She is the mother of three amazing children, two sons and a daughter.  Naturally, companion animals are a big part of their family from the occasional  turtle named James to their beloved Papillion puppies!

A hometown boy, Anthony Alvarado graduated from Duncan High School in 2000.  He attended Cameron University majoring in elementary education and joined our family in 2007 as a Veterinary Assistant. Anthony applied and was accepted into the OSU-OKC College of Veterinary Technology in 2009. His skill and compassion along with his outgoing personality fills a very special niche in our hospital.   He is a husband and the father of a wonderful one-year-old son. Anthony and his wife are expecting their second child in the spring. The Alvarado household is home to three dogs  Kooter, Smokie, Kenai.

Little Jerry Tidwell

As our senior staff member, Little Jerry is our only staff member that lives at
the hospital!  An orphaned kitty rescued from a roadside ditch
near the hospital years ago, it did not take long for Jerry to find his
rightful place.  He spends most days sleeping on the front counter.  Jerry
considers himself indispensable and has appointed himself
the official food taster for our patients and guests.  Unfortunately
he goes for the unopened bags stored in the back room!  He
is also known for keeping the chair at the front desk warm.  Jerry
considers himself the only one qualified to perform cat scans in the
hospital.  This is not the professional opinion of our doctors!  A very
special feline, you may also find Jerry on Facebook under Jerry Tidwell and he
would love to be your Facebook friend!
